wow. very interesting slo. im convinced that quality of life is a piece of shit without booze. nearly all humans selfmedicate with something. i will always wonder how many animals do the same. koalas clearly stay plastered. booze would definately be part of my life if not for hepc. i like to drink while working. get my creativity on. i tried some casual beers this summer, promptly pissed my liver off. doc told me once if i could achieve und i could drink booze again. she probably shouldnt have told a former hard drinker that. europeans start the day with brandy n take it up with beer about noon. even during work. ive seen telephone linemen in germany working with a case of beer sitting nearby in the shade. lucky guys. here in bibleland theyde be breaking 500 laws.

Alcohol is rugh on the liver. I choose not to mess with alcohol especially as messed up my health is.

I have a tendency to romanticize the memories of my hard drinking days. Those glorious day are probably gone forever now, but I still do miss them. I've been sober since dx, about 5 years now, I reckon. For years I've imagined that when I reached a certain old age I'd just resume my disolute and degenerate habits and drink, and smoke opium, and...,generally indulge myself. Soon I'll be 58....I'm getting closer...but not nearly old enough to take up my old ways. Now, I've gotten to the point where I'm totally pleased to be sober all the time; it feels so good. No more hangovers, no shaky hands, no split lips....hahaha!

LMAO........... Love The Onion Too! Have it bookmarked~ I'm relearning to to live my live w/o alcohol, ok right now while on tx, as I dont go anywhere or when other's bring it over, they take it home w/them. Sure do miss it tho, but I value my liver more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I quit drinking the day after I found out that I tested positive for HEP C.
Over a year after the TX , my doctor says I am cured,no more hep C.My liver was not damaged by the virus so I could have a drink or two a day to stay healthy.I just wonder whether the one or two will become 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 like the good old days...
My wife is in AA so most likely I will not have the first one,if she is in town....
