Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I have lived on this site (sorry dumbass - this has become my life - and I dont look as good as quaser.....but...... probably better than cap) and all the info about blood levels - how to help sides - everything became a weapon for the arsenal I'm building for this war - I even have a "side affects bag" (stuff recommended) since I will be going this alone for as long as I can to continue working.
As far as crying - I think this is a healthy thing - You and your husband are grieving - and the stages of grieving -
1 - Denial (this isn't really happening) remember denial is a shock absorber for the soul until we can handle it.
2 - Anger (why is this happening? I did this, they did this)
3 - Bargaining (If I get through this I'll ......)
4 - Sadness (crying, I give up)
5 - Acceptance (I'm ready for what ever comes)
And I think we bounce around from 1 through 4 for a while -
Now sadness and depression are two different things - sadness subsides (even if it comes back later) while depression doesn't leave
When the sadness comes on - set the timer for 10 minutes - then give it ALL you've got - cry, yell, scream, hit a pillow - slap the bed - whatever just don't hurt yourself - but GET IT OUT - when the timer goes off - stop - and do something physical - fold clothes - wash dishes - clean out the car - if obsessive thoughts enter your mind - say outloud "I'm washing the plate; I'm peeling potatoes, etc" - you see - we can only think of one thing at a time - and these obsessive thoughts will diminish considerably - (I talk to women (mostly women) who live with alcoholic loved ones, and we are really crazy) And grief is grief - whether it is the death of a loved one; a lost job; failing health; or broken dreams - whatever - pain is pain - and I have found this can help
Sorry for the long post - I can almost promise - information is going to help with most of this - and my sanity was restored by the good folks on this site - and no matter how bad it is - out of the blue a post will make you LMAO - and you'll know, it is just a small gift from the universe when you need it.
Both of you be gentle with yourselves. Much Love
there are some positives to this....lifestyle changes for one! I was driving around today. It's amazing how many fast food restaurants are out there and how many folks are at them!! One tip I got lately with regard to diebities and Hep C is; If your great grandmother wouldn't recognize it, don't eat it! That is taking me a very long way towards right / healthy decisions. The Doctor who told me I had Hep C (I had no idea, no symptoms) deadpanned me!!! I walked out of there feeling I needed to start "Getting my affairs in order". I have an appointment this week and more I guess will be reveiled. There really is a lot of "hope" with this bunkand i'll close with this...I know a 50 yr old woman who has both Hepc and Aids......since she was 20. Energy wise she will run circles around 5 people, or better yet a class of 15 special needs kids as she is a fulltime teacher. Hang in there...be strong, but also realistic. Meaning "Nothing changes if nothing changes". Sorry to be so blunt, but your husband has got to get off his ass and keep moving!!! A line from "Shawshank Redemption" ; "Get busy living, or get busy dying". Tell your husband I told him to get moving...lol. Feel free to drop me an email if you wish!!!!
