Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

A couple of cups of coffee a day helps the effectiveness of interferon and ribaviran. Who knew?!

Ya know...ever since I started tx, I could not stand coffee...used to live on it..... but I do enjoy iced coffee which I make at home the night before... ( I don't shoot it up my butt, which is an entirely different process, tho very good for you!)

I LOVE coffee, and am now on my third espresso machine in 20 years, having worn out the previous two. However, I've seem to have lost my taste for it. I still make one large latte every day, but only after I've had my meds and fatty meal. For some reason, I just don't look forward to it. Rarely do I have a second, where as before I always had to limit myself to two, otherwise I would drink it all day and not be able to sleep.

Hi Bob.
I didn't drink coffee during incivek either. I think it's because of having to shove food down my throat at 5:30am to take my pills with, and too full for coffee after that. I would go back to bed for a while sometimes.
Wasn't really interested in coffee later on. I would have some fruit or yogurt around 11 or 12, then my 'fat' meal again around 2.

While on incivek I could not drink coffee hot.I had to drink ice coffee.Now just on riba and peg I can drink it hot again.I was born with a coffee mug in my hand.Been drinking it all my life.

Great to hear!! I cut down to two cups of regular and then if I want more switched to decaf due to the jitters and insomnia. Like star craft, I always have mug in hand. These days its just more often filled with water.
