The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Over 40 years I have had elevated liver enzymes and Dx in 1992

I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in 4/11. Diagnosed with HCV in 1/97.

Found out I had hep c 4.5 years ago and found out I had cirrhosis aout 4.3 years ago.
Turns out I have had Hep c for 25 years,atleast I now know why I feel the way I do.
Ah well.

Only five in this group who "know" and again only in this group.
We are far from few in number ad cirrhosis is the 10th leading cause of death in North Americans.
All that aside there is hope to live long and be cured, even with Stage 4.

Found out Iabout hep c April/98. Found out about chirrosis about 3 weeks ago.

about two years ago for the cirr. dx and still progressing. Failed tx 5/11
Now at stage 3/4..grade 3/4

Almost forgot, Dx'd with the HCV Mid 90's

Diagnosed with HCV in 2003. Diagnosed with cirrhosis in 2007 or 2008. I can't remember.

I read 10th leading cause of death in the states is Chirrosis,my point is that hepc
probably contrubted to a very small fraction of the overall chirrosis Regards Don
