Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Yes a common complaint from treatment. It can also be a symptom of portal vein hypertension when ammonia created by bowel bacteria is not filtered out of your blood and affects your brain.
Some folks gt relief with certain antibiotics.
Not saying what the cause of yours may be but just some information for you

I don't have HE - hepatic encephalopathy - but I do have brain fog. I've learned to accept it. Can be scary, embarrassing, frustrating so now I just laff it off - raise my eyebrows & say - someday you too will be old.
I may ask for one..good to know!
I don't know how long I was doing that.
Is this the first time this has happened?
I guess I always assume the worst. Right before my mom had a mild stroke, she was very confused and unable to answer a simple question.
I had brain fog throughout tx, and still have memory lapses. It sucks as I prided myself in remembering stupid things. What helps me, is reading, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
I'm not talking about intelligence, mine is fine (I can beat Mastermind in four moves every time), I'm talking about brain fog that comes and goes. Like that class I was in, I was doing fine answering questions and I could focus on the instructor. But, when the brain fog hit, I was out of it. And for you bros and sisters who want me to go to the DR. about it, they never find anything because it is from the hep c which they know nothing about. Now they say there are no symptoms. I beg to differ. I have had unexplainable medical problems for years. Right now, they know very little but it looks like things are turning around.
I don't have any discernible, treatable issues. No atherosclerotic plaque, no hypertension, no tumors.
I don't expect myself to be on top of my game like I was at 35 or 40. I'm 60. I'm allowed some brain fog with or without hcv.
If I told my drs, they'd laff & say '"what???"
I then saw a doc and had biopsy, ultrasound, all labs.
My iiver has some fatty tissue, but otherwise looks good.
I am geno 3a.
It went away on it's own - the brain fog, that is. But I was careful
and rested a lot.
This is a bizarre disease that does strange things and then you will fell okay again....
I did try tx, but at week 10 had too many complications to go on.
The people here are great and have helpe me tremendously!!
Hugs to you.......W e are in this together...
