Has your doctor given you an opinion on why you are low?
Nancy
I am not on treatment and have never been. It has been 20 yrs or more with Hep C. I have many health problems related to Hep C and other. And no, my doctor has not said why he thinks I am iron deficient except he thinks I need supplements. He used to tell me to eat meat and iron rich foods. I am a big time meat lover so no problem there. and I can not take iron supplememnts in any form as I am very allergic to it. My doctor said I would get anaphalaxis if I took the shots.
Maybe you might consider seeking a second medical opinion. If I read your post right, your saying your doctor thinks you need iron supplements...but you say your very allergic to them???? Hope you find a MD who gives you the answers you need. Good luck sweetie.
