Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
First, thanks to all of you that have asked about my status. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers.
The day before I left for my africa trip my viral load test came back at 215,000. I saw my Gastro Dr. yesterday. After nearly 8 months with him he dumped me! He gave me a few names of other doctors. I made an appointment with Dr. Joseph Galati in early Nov. We'll see what he has to say. I also have an appointment with Alamo Medical Research concerning a trial for relapsed responders.
I feel pretty good since completing treatment. The only residual physical side effect is insomnia. I haven't gained the weight back, but that's OK. Mentally, still struggling with some focus and memory issues I didn't have before treatment. Emotionally, I seem to be almost back to normal and the "riba rage" has passed.
So...despite my initial reaction of "I will never do treatment again" I am considering and investigating treatment options. If anyone has some leads on trials for relapsed responders, please let me know.

You might check the CDC website. Glad to hear you are feeling better after TX------the roughest year of our lives! Let us know what you find......
TX didn't work for me either, never got "undie".
I've decided - because of my age etc - to just do my best & be grateful I did get to try tx. I feel better than i have in 2yrs or more.
