Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
A full 60 days now since the 24 week course of triple with Incivek ended. Already about 90% back to normal. A few minor sides remain:
Dry skin
Zits pop up in weird places.
Butt hole itches.
Brain fog.
But I finally feel like the anemia is gone, and my only limitation is my own strength...not the anemia. My blood work is back to normal. I'm back to running the same distance I was before treatment , and went on a 10 mile bike ride the other day...no problem...unthinkable 3 months ago!
About two weeks ago, I woke up with the strong feeling that this whole ugly treatment episode was behind me.
All of the other side-effects:
Nausea
Dizziness
Fatigue
Mouth sores
Dry mouth
Metallic taste
Hemorrhoids
"Ring of Fire"
Muscle aches
Headaches
Vision problems
Rapid, pounding pulse
Rashes
Bloating
...are gone! :-)
Life is really good again. Treatment is no fun, but hang in there everyone. It's worth the sacrifice to be free of HCV :-)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Onward you go to enjoy life and all it has to offer, minus those little virus bastards!

My post treatment experience was much like that. One day I woke up and had an overwhelming feeling that I was ME again. No other way to explain it. That was an awesome day and I remember it well.
Maybe in a few months I can post some good news to inspire others!
