My meds got delivered!! UPS man said that it was mistakenly put on his truck and should have been on a different (overnight express) truck and delivered by 6:30 am... and that UPS should have called me. I can bet they called Aetna. There was no plane delay... :-/

Now, my only concern is that Ribavirin is from a different manufacturer, and my experience with that in other meds is that side effects can vary GREATLY depending on manufacturer and the inert compounds they use. This is a pink pill from Zydus in pharma despense bottle, and the other one (the one I am taking now) is a white pill from Sandoz in manufacturer's original container. Will side effect change -- increase - decrease after I just got as adjusted as I can to what I am dealing with now? Is this a generic version compared to other (I am here to affirm generic is not the same in ANYTHING as my son takes multiple meds and we have been through hell with name brand v. generic), and no one told me?

One more thing to worry over... I guess I will find out on 7 days.

Anyway, that's my update!! They made it. And I only have to do this ONE MORE TIME!!! Woot!

Good Beachy. It's been incompetence all the way around on this one! I've been reading some reports f a possible riba shortage. That would not be surprising considering how many are seeking tx. I don't know if that explains the differences in mfg. & certainly wouldn't know if it's a generic as opposed to brand. Apparently there are several versions of riba. Mine were lt blue am/dk blue pm pills & they were dispensed as Ribasphere (ribavirin, USP) in a dose pak. Mfg. by DSM & distributed by Kadmon Pharmaceuticals but this was tx in 2011. A lot of these companies & providers are being changed with the implementation of the Affordable Health Care Act & I believe there are new players based much on politics.

You have the last meds to see you through & be free of HCV forever! So, take a deep breath, get a shower, drink some water, grab a bite to eat, get some love from your family & get to the finish line. It's downhill from here. Hugs.

I don't know anything about the RIba, but YOUR MEDS ARE THERE now, and that's your last shipment. There is really a rush on this stuff, obviously.

Oh yes, girl, relax now! Whew, eh? There is a lesson in this for all on tx with Sovaldi, so it is a good thing (well, you had to suffer) that you brought this issue up here. As you have seen, there are a couple threads on this now (stockpiling) and kramer received the message and is orchestrating accordingly.

WooHooo!!! Glad they got there!!! My Riba was from a different manufacturer this time, of course my usual pharmacy didn't have it but this time it is from
zyGenerics, last time it was from SANDOZ. I know, hopefully the side effects won't be different for you or me either. On the Sandoz Riba I got a rash on my hands and forearms, interesting to compare sides..lol..not bad overall though...hope the potency is dang good for both..that's what I care about.

The Sandoz Riba gave me a face rash and peeling, blistery skin with pimples around my nose and chin and mouth - looks like dermatitis or ezcema or something. Purging all the crap out of my body I hope.. And peeling fingers around cuticles. Weird.

I still have one more shipment until TX is over. This was only the second one. Weeks 5-8. Hopefully this next one won't be such a bear to acquire. It's been nothing but a roller coaster from the start, I'll say that. Whew... Hope the Riba doesn't run out of stock in the next 3 weeks. They'll have to call the straight jacket men for me if so. LOL

Ugh - I didn't realize you still needed one more shipment after this one. But you know what to do, beachy! Call TWO weeks before, and if they tell you it's not time yet, ask them when is and hound them every day anyway. The drugs made you foggy, whatever. They may not like it, but they are NOT gonna cut you off and lose all that $.

Guess we gotsa take what we can get and be thankful, huh? We are at the mercy of the pharm and insurance industries and they only care about their shaeholders, bottom line, and CEO paychecks and bonuses, not us!

I have no idea what my Ribavirin looked like who who made it,

Are you using lots of sunscreen? It comes as high as 100 SFP! Us eit even on cloudy days and while driving.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
