Hi all! I am now fighting a new battle. After clearing this SOB virus 2.5 years ago. Now I have Fricking Melanoma! They don't know if it spread yet but CRAP! Guess what the tx is for this? Interferon!!! Here we go again! Man i'm Pissed! But as with Hep-c will do what I need to do! I have been living life since svr and man I don't want to do this again! I ride my bikes 100-200 miles a week and ride the mountain bike whenever I can, 20-30 miles a week. Broke my back last july on the mountain bike and made it back. Now this stuff. But i know there is a plan and i will do it. I have already been in Johns Hopkins for the pre-op consult and boy are we gonna have fun!LOL

Just wanted to let you guys who I treated with what was going on.

Happyharvoni it was a blemish about the size of a pencil eraser and was light pink in color. Had it for years and it was looked at by a doc. It was a basil cell. They said it was no big. About a month 1-2 months ago it started to change. It got half again as large as it was. Got a little sore and got a deep red. Decided to have it looked at(Thank God), found it to be melanoma. If you have things like freckles, moles ect... you should have them looked at. They say you should go to a dermatologist once a year. If you have a history you should go every 6 months. I will be going every 3 months for 1 year after surgery.

Hey cat! How are you doing? It is a hard call but I am a tough old sob! I did do the triple and only missed 1 day of work!(was climbing poles at the time too!) It will be ok. I am as angry as I was for hcv with this crap so I feel like that is half the battle won!

Update: Got surgery on Friday. They think they got it all but the results are not back from the lymph node biopsy. Will know more this week. am back to work today and feel pretty good considering. Will let you guys know what the deal is.
