Hi all! I am now fighting a new battle. After clearing this SOB virus 2.5 years ago. Now I have Fricking Melanoma! They don't know if it spread yet but CRAP! Guess what the tx is for this? Interferon!!! Here we go again! Man i'm Pissed! But as with Hep-c will do what I need to do! I have been living life since svr and man I don't want to do this again! I ride my bikes 100-200 miles a week and ride the mountain bike whenever I can, 20-30 miles a week. Broke my back last july on the mountain bike and made it back. Now this stuff. But i know there is a plan and i will do it. I have already been in Johns Hopkins for the pre-op consult and boy are we gonna have fun!LOL

Just wanted to let you guys who I treated with what was going on.

Og I am so sorry to hear that ,,I fought stage 3 colon cancer with mets to the liver and am 2 1/2 years
NED ..
I am waiting ro tx of the HCV I am, geno 3 stage 4 ci4rhossis ...youcan do this fishboy!!!

Heading to bed but also wanted to send my support. My ex has been managing melanoma for over 6 years ago, which metastasized to a few areas, mostly his brain. He outlived his year prognosis by 8 or 9 months or so already and is currently doing very well.

Yes crazy on interferon used to treat that. There are also better drugs there too and for 60% I think, people are getting great results on Yervoy. Ask about it. All of his lesions have either shrunk or disappeared altogether after 4 painless and side effect free infusions. Currently, he's been in the clear for 6.5 months now. He was on a major roller coaster with treatments and problems. So happy to see him enjoy things again and plan trips and stuff.

Yervoy! Ask about it and wish you well.

So sorry to hear that Fishboy you were such support to me when I was on triple tx back in 2011 , I will say prayers for you and you are strong you can beat this ! You have been such an inspiration to us all !!!

Thanks you guys! I really do appreciate the The prayers! I will keep you all informed as to what is going on. I Will be getting surgery on the 12th. I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing. It's kinda surreal at best. This is a this happens to other people thing. But why not me ya know? I know whatever does not kill you makes you stronger. I am trying to take the same approach I did with HCV but I am wiser this time to the problems with Interferon. I am also pissed enough that it will have an effect on the outcome. I only missed 1 day of work during the triple TX and I hope for the same here! I am too onory to not get through this!LOL Will know more on the 13th!

Thanks Bob. You are correct, we do need to do a ride and I want to make it longer than 10! Been trying to get as much saddle time as possible before this starts up. Got about 150 last week and this week I have 38 and 14 in the woods! Just had some Hellatious storms last night and we won't be in the woods for several days. Looks like this week is going to be all road.

Oh FB - so sorry to hear this. But --- you are a warrior - hell, you did the dreaded triple tx and survived it. You will fight and win this battle too. This is a reminder for all of us oldies to not ignore any strange stuff on our skin (that's growing out of it - lol - if it's like spilled mustard or whatever, no biggie). WISH YOU WELL, friend.
