Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I saw the Dr. today. It's been nearly 15 months since I completed treatment (relapsed immediately after treatment) and a year since I had seen a Dr. All my labs came back normal. No problems with liver enzymes. They did not do a viral load test.
This Dr. is the clinical trial guy here in Houston. As was the case last year, there are no trials for me. He did mention their hopes for Telepravir being approved in the fall of this year, but also mentioned that there had not been much study done on gen 2 patients that have relapsed.
I have no idea if this information is of any use to anyone, but there ya go:)

thanks for keeping us up-to-date on what's going on with you. sure hope you can do the new protocol that includes the telepravir? the last i heard was it was coming on the market in the summer of 2011?
