Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I never knew I could ask for copies of my lab work. But now that I think about it - it make ssense.. it's news about my body, so why would they not give it to me? I will ask for copies at my next appts. I'd like to know what my numbers are.
Also, Dave? What are rescue meds?

Started having problems 3-4 yrs ago. Finally came off my boat-ride on "de-Nile" and face the disease head on. Had a biopsy, (there are 2 ways they do this, I strongly prefer laproscopy. My liver's not too bad, even after all these years. Statge 2 Grade 2. Am preparing for tx.

Fear is one of the first side effects of Hcv! Once you learn more about this virus and about the tx, then your nerves will settle.
It's just so much at once, and can be overwhelming. I remember!!! I was scared to death!!!
