hi, yes, treatment made me look 10 yrs older. it was awful. i'm slowly getting back to normal 7 months after treatment but still don't look like i did before treatment. boy, i sure hope we get back to normal? treatment is tough and really takes a tole on us.

and i lost 3/4 of my hair so i just cut it all off and now i'm letting it grow back in natural. not dying it anymore so it's silver, grey and dark. i love it! think it's really pretty...

are you drinking a lot of water? i was drinking 100 oz of water a day while in treatment and now about 50. keep drinking the water! it helps.

tx will dry out your skin making it appear more worse for the wear. you should be using a gentle moisturizer like cetaphil. it is a good one to use and is not heavy so should not break out from it. during winter months, if your skin can handle it, you should use a heavier cream at night. when your off tx a good line that is fairly priced is oil of olay regeneris. hope this helps. i sort of work with with skin as a profession.

Good suggestions. Gentle products, drink tons of water. Elasticity does not spring back, but you will look great when you get to the other side because you will feel better. We all look sick when we are sick. Don't despair. Get some facials & hair masks when you're done. Eat a healthy diet now & forever. Keep a positive outlook and try to get a walk outdoors.
Stay away from mirrors. Only hang out with blind people.

I'd like to comment on the menopause part of the post. I know I was perimenopausal before tx, but my question is..... Is tx going to send me into full blow menpause? I get hot flashes horribly, which i know IS part of menopause, but is hot flashes a side of tx?
Periods are starting to get way off track. Sorry ds guys.

I was menopausal when I started and hot flashes were almost gone.
TX does give you hot flashes as well.
Dry skin - a humidifier in winter helps immensely. Try to keep the skin moisturized.

Yea I had a problem like that. Not looking older, just tired looking. But I would get horrible acne on treatment. They would scar and take forever to go away. I started using products that were all natural because my skin was super sensitive to anything strong. Ponds cream is good too. I use it every morning and night. My skin and my "monthly" situation is finally almost back to normal 3 months post tx.
