Hi I am in same situation I found about my hepatitis 12 years ago when I was pregnant , I was wery scard and opset the only men I had sex with is my husband and he is imune, I gat virus on my work in dental ofice I think .I never neaded tretman my liver is helthy just last year had biopsy, I have very low virus level and I know there ara tretmants and wee kan live halthy life, but every year I go to my hepatologist I get scared and panic i have appoitmant next weak I hope I do OK, I wish you the best and remember you are not alone

Hi, I am 28 and was born with it.I found out when i was around 12.For years i pretended i was fine and drank to forget it.I am still alive after all the drinking so as long as your liver is working right you should be ok.FYI..I recently quit drinking and trying to live a healthier life style.I hope for the best and so should you.If you ever have any questions or just want to talk let me know!

Gary thanks for the kind words. It's good that u stop drinking and smoking. As long we keep monitoring it we should be fine, that's what my gi told me. I'm going to start my treatment during my third trimester which is a month from now, and prolly will be on it for awhile.I'm just trying to stay positive and hope there will be a cure one day.

Hi, I'am 37 an discovered my hep b 3yrs ago, because my wife ended up in hospital for 5 weeks fighting of the virus only to find that she probable caught it off me. still don't know how i contracted it in the first place, not that thats important now. I had a biopsy & blood tests to find that i had some liver damage & my viral load was up close to 3 million which is quite high apparently. I've been on medication for a year now an its brought my viral load down to 19,000(yipi) doc wants to get it under 1000. I now have a 22mth old daughter a 2 day old son & a wonderful wife, i don't drink & don't miss it & to be honest my life has never been better. Yes i'm shit scared but as long as i look after myself i'll probably live a good long life & as they say "worse things have happened at sea". stay positive do research ask your consultant lots o questions.

As long as you monitor your status and get treatment if/when needed, the odds of you dying from something else is very high. The virus can be controlled, just don't ignore it.

I contracted it 1.5 years ago and even though I am surface antigen negative now I still fear it because my antibodies are too low for immunity. I still monitor my status and I've been told I beat it.
