it has been more than two years since i was diagnosed, my ALT was a little elevated constantly between 40-63. my viral load always less than 2000. after my doctor visit today i was advised to start medication BARACLUDE 0.5mg once a day. dose any one had this therapy ? any thing i should know about? thanks

Just do your daily blood lab, take your medication, stay healthy by eating right and stay positive.

If your VL is less than 2000 iu/ml then you don't need treatment. Change the doctor, why didn't he sugest taking Viread (tenofovir) instead of Entecavir (baraclude)? In my opinion you shouldn't have started treatment. I'm Hbeag negative, VL 47 000 iu/ml and I'm not taking anything yet.
Nucs don't clear Hbsag so I don't see any point in taking them if it's not necessary

My viral load is always less than 2000 and my alt high at 60 low 40 all the time. My doctor said the virus is still making damage to my liver slowly and adviced to treat it before it is late.

ALT can be elevated from so many reasons, not necessary hepatitis. Did he tell you you may have to take it for the rest of your life? And why not Viread?

Yes he told me I may take the medication for the rest of my life but he didnt say any about vired

Viread (tenofovir) is the most potent nucleotide on the market at this hour. you can develop resistance to entecavir but it's not common on tenofovir.
