Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.

am in a lot of pain (physically and mentally) and in need of someone to talk to......past experience has taught me that going to the er or trying to talk to a dr is completely useless.

i promise i just need to vent with someone who will be sympathetic.

It can feel like a long, lonely, up hill have battle. That's why this site is so great. You get to share with people who DO know what they are talking about! Vent away!

update.....i went to a gen pract. and asked for meds to relieve some of my symptoms. she gave them to me and i am starting to feel a little relief. however, the bad part is when this wears off i will be back in the same boat. she completely dismissed my symptoms. my bp jumps up and down and she doesn't seem concerned. she is very unconcerned about my HH.

i have tried contacting a hemo clinic and was completely dismissed. i have a horrible metallic taste in my mouth and so weak i can't hardly stand up to go to the bathroom.

so today, i had to decide between buying groceries or going to the dr. how disheartening. why won't anyone help me? even tho i have so much to live for.....i can only hope the lord will show mercy on me and allow me to not wake up the next time i go to sleep. the pain is so unbearable.

i would like to thank each and everyone of you for responding....that is relieve in itself.....hugs to you all
