Hemochromatosis Support Group
Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.
How much blood do they take for that two weeks? For me it is 500 mls a week.
A) Liver is swollen
B) Spleen is enlarged
C) Pancreatitis
D) Colon/Large intestine
Now the last two I have not had any experience with- I only read about them.
My spleen was giving me fits due to the iron. My liver now does periodically, and it never started until I had the liver biopsy. Go figure.
