heck no I think $70 is a high price to pay for a lawn unless it is a full lawn with a wide amount of grass....that does not seem to be the case but I guess your area you have to pay what the going rates are and I do not know how big your yard is.
I do my own here and I am sure it is the best thing for me to do. I get the bit of exercise and I also get motivated to pooper scoop the back yard too. LOL

Anyway I have a battery operated lawn mower I got last year and it is great. Put two 80volt batteries into it and if one goes hot or low it will auto switch to the second battery. I never have had any problems with that but I have used the blower which uses same battery and the chain saw uses them too and sometimes they over heat. that shuts them down but I have two so I switch them out and finish my task....

Of course not! Who could blame you? I guess it does matter how big your yard is.

Our yard guy comes every other week in the summer. We do get a lot of rain (if we are lucky) and the grass really grows fast.

I just cut my grass this evening after 7pm....I got the front done in less than 20mins,,,It took longer in the back but then too I pulled tools out to take to the cemetery on Monday and loaded them into the back of my car. in all it was probably 45 mins to cut the grass,...oh I forgot I also put the grill grate from dishwasher into the weber kettle there was even more time....so maybe just 40minutes to cut the grass and blow out all the clippings on the patio....

Thanks everyone! I have a really big yard. I used to mow it myself but I hated every minute of it. Bill, that's good that you do your own lawn.

tried posting but got bad gateway....I hope this goes thru if the yard is large get a riding mower but you had said you did not have much grass because of sandy soil.....

Yes bill and when I first moved here in 2006, my youngest brother gave me a riding lawnmower and God only knows why but I couldn't figure out how to use it. Sometimes I can be a dummy.
