Heart Failure Support Group
Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."
I also have pulmonary fibrosis and my cough got worse. I didn't mention it to my cardiologist and told my pulmonologist about it. He told me the Lisinopril can create/increase a cough. On my next cardiologist appointment, he agreed that it was the LIsinopril increasing my cough. (I already have one, it just made it worse)
My cardiologist told me that if any of my other doctors prescribe me any type of blood pressure medicine, to tell them no and have them call him.
My point is that there are so many possible side effects to any medication. No matter how minor, tell you doctor about any changes. It might be something that you haven't thought of ....IE I should have told my cardiologist about the cough and he would have taken me off it sooner.
