Heart Failure Support Group
Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."

I'm not around here as much as I'd like. I work full-time and that wipes me out. I try to look at the group once a day, but don't post as often as I should. This week I found out I either have a shin splint or a stress fracture. Neither of which I need right now. So, I'm on crutchs and it's hard to get around that way. Especially at work. But living alone, I NEED to work. Other than that, I'm doing pretty good. I've lost 20 pounds since my diagnosis on August 8. The dietician told me I am doing great. I never thouht I could give up Pepsi and fast food, but I'm doing it. One day at a time. For me, it's motivation to want to hang around a lot longer. I have a 4 year old granddaughter and I want to see her grow up.

Good job watching your diet and keeping a good attitude. It is so hard to lose weight especially when you are so tired. But giving up the fast food and Pepsi is definitely a good start. Nothing like a stress fracture or whatever to keep you from moving around like you want to, but you will get through it. The full time work has got to be hard. Just take it slow at home. Good luck....

Losing 20 pounds is great!!! Keep up the good work! I'm sorry to hear about your shin splint or stress fracture. Try to stay off of it if when you can. Taking such good care of yourself, I'm sure you will be around for your granddaugher for many years!

Wow, if it is not one thing it is another, isn't it? Well, good job on losing weight. That is a tought thing to do. I really admire you that even with this CHF thing you still manage to work full time. That and you are incredible. Hugs! JoAnn

I'm getting around on crutches and hanging in there. The leg felt a little better today, but I'm taking it easy cause I don't need anymore set backs. Actually, I was a junk food eater; so with the salt restrictions and the fluid restrictions; along with eating healthy, it has not been hard to lose weight so far. They keep asking me what my "dry" weight is and I'm not sure I"m there yet.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
