Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."
In 2008 I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Add to that an LAD stent in 2009, 3 sets of pulmonary embolisms, kidney disease and multiple times in the hospital for asthma or the heart or kidney problems. Last month 3 of my doctors told me it's time to quite and file for Social Security Disability. I hadn't been at work since May and was finally on unpaid leave. In August, out of money, I was forced to move in with my elderly parents. I left there 4 years ago because I couldn't deal with them. My mother is lazy as they come and now my father has gone into a deep depression and refuses to get off the couch.
The problem is they either don't realize or (as my therapist says) they don't care that I have real medical problems. I have lost my cool several times and told my mom "let's bet who dies first...my 81 year old father or me"?? I feel like a slave here. They had not cleaned this house in 2 years and one week after I got here I ended up in the hospital with severe asthma exaserbation. I was able to clean my apartment, but it took all day. This is a 3 bedroom house with a cat and dog. I do all the cleaning and dish washing.
I'mat my wit's end and don't know what to do. I am hiding in my bedroom so nobody asked me to do anything. But if I don't keep the place clean, I can't breathe.
And lastly, I discovered in Arizona I can't get medical benefits from the state even if I can't work.
Sorry if I seem to be feeling sorry for myself. Oh...,.I'm on the way to take an MRI to my neurologist who discovered a hand tremor that is worse with stress or anger or just being tired.

You should go to the Social Security web site and read up on disability. There is some criteria you must meet so you'll have to read for yourself. If approved, you will get a monthly income and be eligible for Medicare. The whole process takes some time, but the sooner you start the sooner you can get back on your feet and maybe even move into your own place.
As for your living arrangements, well it is your parents home, and while you may not like their lifestyle, you're a guest and need to recognize they have the right to live as they choose in their own home. If you feel you must clean, for whatever reason that's a personal decision
Well, my mom's lifestyle has caused my father to give up. For years he complained about her being lazy. And I told them before I came here that I had to have clean living environment. If either of my children had a medical conditions or more and something in my home would kill them, it would change.
And you try to clean up the dirty and dust and garbage that has been around for 2 years. Last year I called and reported them to Adult services. A woman came out and said if things did not change, SHE would remove them from their home. So, it must not be good.
Just looking for a little support from others with the same condition I have. I have made great strides in my heart failure and I don't want to die just because my family doesn't care.
