Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."
My Friends,
After a big heart attack my EF was left at 23%. I reject the implantation of a ICD 4 years ago, because only could save my life... after 4 very good years, I had a worst summer with more tiredness than usual. My cardiologist checked my EF and says that now I have 17%, despite that, once the summer hot has gone I feel more or less O.K.
My question is:
Is there somebody that has narrow QRS interval and have a Cardiac Resinchronization Device implanted? As far as I understand there are no data below a QRS of 130ms.
My cardiologist want me to get it but, I think, the chances of better quality of life are few. At the moment I have a QRS of 100ms and my holter is crystal clear without any arrhythmia.
Her reasons are:
1) Is the only thing that she can do to make me feel better (which I strongly doubt).
2) It is a requirement to go into the TX list where soon she expect me to stay.
I would appreciate any feed back.

You might want to reference this link on the subject. According to studies patients with a QRS of less than 150ms do not benefit from a CRT. I'm struggling with the same decision and am leaning toward not getting the CRT. Have you considered an LVAD?
