Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."
Kind of quiet here. How is everybody? I'm getting back on track. Had a bad week and then I found myself slipping back in my efforts to eat healthy and do everything I could to beat this. I am reading a book on meditation and in the book there have been studies that eating healthy and meditating have been proven to reverse some of the damage down by heart disease. And more and more I'm finding people living long lives with the diagnosis we have been given. When I was in the hospital last week, the cardiologist told me that my heart had improved. And that some of the congestive heart failure was relieved by just getting the fluid out of my body. Which took a lot of hard work on my part. My daughter asked me why I didn't look into disability and that is when it hit me. I am NOT ready to give up. I still have a LOT of life left in me. And my conditions is not bad enough to stop working. I will concede that I need to modify things. And I am looking into accomodations that can be made, but to stop entirely...no way. Not yet. For me, it just takes readjusting, finding what works now and modifiying my lifestyle. So...how's everybody else??
I am doing pretty good, Sleep apnea and dizziness being my big problems for now. I have tried the new VPAP machine but just can`t sleep with it. My lung doctor has put me on Mirtazapine to help me sleep but it makes me feel like I have a bad hangover. I have another lung function test in January, Dr thinks I may need oxygen when sleeping.
My fiance and I are getting ready for thanksgiving, She is making dinner for my family for the second year now. I help by staying out of the kitchen. Hope you all are doing well or as well as you can.
