Hi Jami, I have used Biotene mouthwash but not the toothpaste. My mom has used both. We have both liked them and they are good products-very gentle on your mouth and teeth. I think the main reason they are used a lot to help with dry mouth is because they are alcohol-free and as such don't have the drying effect on oral mucosa that products containing alcohol can have.

I believe that there are other alcohol-free mouthwashes/toothpastes on the market so you may want to research that and do some price comparisons between them and Biotene. In general though, the alcohol-free washes do tend to be more expensive though.

My opinion is that if the dry mouth is seriously bothering you, then it is definitely worth the cost to use Biotene or a similar product.

Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash are excellent products. Ask your dentist for samples and check on the generic forms.
I use it because some of my meds cause dry mouth.

I agree with the others the biotene is an excellent product.

For your cpap, you might also add a chin strap to cut down on the mouth breathing during the night.
