Heart Failure Support Group
Heart failure is a condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. It is often undiagnosed due to a lack of a universally agreed definition and difficulties in diagnosis, particularly when the condition is considered "mild."
I have come to the conclusion lately that specialists tend to over look issues that are not part of their specialty, and there is also a lot of guess work involved.
I just saw my PCP on Thursday and told him of my concerns, so he ordered a ECG and EKG for me before my insurance runs out.

I find it all very strange because when I left the hospital the first time they made it sound like I'd have this life long "thing" with the heart - they scared me to death, to be honest; and now they're like, "no -you're good." Huh?
Not that I'm complaining by ANY means - I have enough problems with my rheumatoid arthritis and interstitial lung disease.
I've had issues with getting meds due to "history of heart failure" as well -and it is SO CONFUSING.
I guess what I'm saying is I have the exact same questions/concerns as you.
Hang in there, and best of luck!
So, even though I don't have any symptoms of cong.heart failure..she won't prescribe an additional strength of my pain pill, because of my cardiac history.
It's no big deal, because now she said she is referring me back to the pain management center, and she won't be writing the pain pill scripts for me any longer.
The cardiologist I did see, if very well known, and very reputable, so as long as my ECG, and EKG and Stress Test showed no abnormalities, and he also gave me the Ok, for my gastric bypass surgery, then I'm not going to worry anymore about it.
I feel confident with the decrease in my blood pressure, on meds..and my fluid, on meds...that i'm doing the right things. I also know with losing more of the weight, as I will especially after I have my surgery, with the right food choices, and portions along with exercise, that I will also get rid of a lot of my medicines down the road anyways.
Thank you all so much for responding! I'll keep you posted, and ill still continue to stay a part of this group!!!
