Heart Attack Support Group
Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.
I did some study on this supplement a while back. Its function was interesting but too inconclusive to support wide spread pharmacological use in post HA victims. Basically a normal diet of meat and fish with the usual heart healthy vegetables supplies more than enough carintine for normal metabolic fatty acid processing. Our kidneys and liver also produce a natural supply to aid in the matabolizing of fatty acid stores in our heart muscles. Meats are the main source of this L-carintine and its effect on mitochondrial function and oxidation at the endothelial cell levels adds some credence to its use for angina. It's energy conversion properties also allows the muscles to function at a higher level in PAD patients, but studies only support the use to wean off of normal cardiac meds without impeding heart and muscle function to an extent where staying on the meds is prudent. But then again the USA and CANADA are goverened by "Big Pharma" and much more intensive double blind studies would be needed to sway our medical community to substitute L-Carindine for already marketed anginal medications. Good post songsi.
