Heart Attack Support Group
Heart attack is a serious, sudden heart condition usually characterized by varying degrees of chest pain or discomfort, weakness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and arrhythmias, sometimes causing loss of consciousness. It occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, causing death and scarring of the local heart tissue.

It is about time that I was the first to greet a new addition. It usually is Pam or Sue or Johnny or Jim and Steve or any one of my other real real friends who beat me to the punch.
I just got a smidgen of a feeling from your brief post. I can gladly say, now that is, that I had a 100% blocked RCA also. However they were not able to stent the vessel and I lost a good portin of my right atrium and ventricle. Here's the "Cat's Meow" We really can exist quite well with out an unjulating right side. The rules of nature and the principles of hydraulics and hydrodynamics afford us a special pass and allows the heart some redundancy.
You are in better stead as they were able to restore blood supply to the heart. You can rest feeling blessed that a power greater than ourseleves has given us a wake up call to fullfill other purposes here on earth. And a wake up call it was.
Your age puts you right in the age bracket to make some real good changes. Diet, stress, over indulgence, smoking. The only real factor we have no control over at this juncture is heredity. And when you experience the depression and anger over this whole reality, please gaurd against goin back to your family and saying "Damn it, this is all your's fault. This may relieve you and provide an outlet, but your family will be bent on calling in the Iraqi revolutionary gaurd to curb you.
Gosh Unsu, we are all going to enjoy you and we all can share and get through this together. Some sooo very coool people here who have stared at the fangs of a dragon and spit down it's throat, are going to make this whole ordeal a little bit easier to get through. Granted this is a real life altering event but the change, if you allow it, can be all rreal good. You may not see that presently but, I have been so fortunate to keep my head up and it is all becuase of my re-belief in God and all these wonderful people. So I am so damn glad to be the first to welcome you.
Best Regards,
Just Joe
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement, I will continue to support DS and encourage others. I will keep you in prayer and continue to encourage others.
Wow, Joe ..,you hit the nail on the head. This has truly been a life changing experience and a wake up call. Changing course and changing direction in life but the final destination is still the same (Heaven) always being mindful of the highways and byways and knowing that not all streets are two-way...met quite a few on the one-way, not sure if they were following the arrow. Doing much better now and many didn't understand but your support here has mad a difference.
Thank you guys for your support, only you know what it means in times like these

Sorry you're here, but glad you're here, if you get my meaning. I love your take on positive attitude. My heart attack, as you say, certainly messed with my life map a bit. There are new challenges and hurdles to be overcome. But I'm really excited about the opportunity to meet those goals and become a better person through that. It's not the course I would have chosen in hindsight but I'm really focused on moving forward from here.
Blessings,
Steve
it ends up being an ammendment to the damn constitution. I believe because I think when I write. Scary Eh?
Welcome to DS. Sorry that you qualify for the cardiac club. As Minor7th says, the initiation ritual is hell, but the members are great! You've met some of our finest so far.
You're right in saying that staying positive is key. It will help you get through a multitude of hurdles, stress being one of them. I have found the journal feature on DS is a great stress reliever for me. You might want to check it out.
Keep posting and commenting. It keeps us going!
Hugs and prayers,
Pam
