This is a bit of a rant and I guess I'm not looking for advice but
more people's take on it. I think I did the best I could under the
circumstances.
I was out of town last week and got a text from an xgf who currently
Has been seeing someone seriously for one or two months. This wasn't out of the ordinary as we
text every once in a while just to see how things are going. We
exchanged pleasantries and she went on to tell me she had be recently
assaulted at a club in town. I called her later after she had put her
kids to bed to see how she was. Apparently a guy pinned her against
the wall and stuck his hand up her dress at a club but she was able to
get away and he was thrown out of the club. She seemed a little shaken
but not too bad.
I had to go to dinner so ended the call. Later when I returned to my
room she texted me to see what I was up to. This was a bit out of the
ordinary; we don't usually text a lot during the same day. Anyway, one
thing led to another, and we started having an explicit sexual
conversation about what we used to do, what she wanted me to do to
her, etc etc. Now the thing is our sex was frigging smoking hot.
Neither of us has been with anyone who is nearly as sexually
compatible tha the other. After a while she asked me if I wanted to
get together for sex when I got back. I was hesitant. I asked her if
she was still seeing her current bf and she said she was. I asked if
they were no longer exclusive to which she responded that they were
"mostly exclusive" and went on to say that she couldn't deny me. I
mean, ok, what guy doesn't like to hear that? She then came on even
stronger. She sounded like she really wanted to and I at this point
was going a bit crazy thinking of how hot our sex was so I agreed and
we set up a day and I told her I'd get back to her with a time. The
evening ended when she wanted me to call her to help her "finish"
which I did. She sounded hot as always.
So, now I was looking forward to having sex with her. I really wasn't
sure what "mostly exclusive" meant but I also wasn't questioning it;
after all it's her relationship that I know nothing about and so it's
her call what she does there. She wanted to talk the next day. She
related that she was feeling a bit out of control because of the
various pressures she is under as a single mom etc etc. She definitely
was hinting at something but I needed her to be explicit and she
wasn't. I tried to make her feel better about things and anyway the
call ended ok.
I realized after she was probably trying to hint that she had changed
her mind about having sex. I was annoyed because she had proposed the
whole thing and I had done my bit to make sure that's what she really
wanted. We had a text convo the next day and I said I could get
together at such and such a time on the scheduled day. She then said
she was "on the fence" about having sex with me. I tried to be as
patient as possible. She brought up that it would be cheating if she
did (she had not said that at all when I had asked her a couple nights
before). I got upset because I felt she was fucking with my mind. I
mean our sex is incredible so she can't come on strong with an offer
and then change her mind and expect me to be OK with that. It ended
with us getting into a text arguement and I just stopped texting
because it was clear she had decided and nothing I was going to say
was going to change that and I just didn't want to get more upset than
I already was about it.
She sent me a text apology about an hour later saying she was sorry
she had dragged me into her mess and hadn't intended to fuck with my
head. I waited a couple days and then sent her an email last night
thanking her for her apology and saying I still wanted to be friends
but asking her to please be sure of what she wanted before she
offerred me sex again because I had been looking forward to it.
That's it in a nutshell. Anyone had anything along these lines happen to them?

IMO if she would make the offer and then change her mind that quickly it would probably turn into way too much drama if the two of you did go through with a booty call. No sex, no matter how hot it is would be worth dealing with the drama afterwards and someone who's wishy-washy like that will usually equal drama.
Also, in my experience, if she asks again, she will follow through. But some people do things they'll regret. Either do it and be okay with it or don't do and spare everyone.
Next time, use each other. Enjoy the heat of that moment, even over the phone, while the moment lasts.
