I watch Cathouse on HBO and Dennis said if you call my girls whores, or sluts in a mean way he would kick you out of the Bunny Ranch. He would rather refer to them as working women. I have also had girlfriends call other women sluts and at the same time call a girlfriend a slut and they would laugh.

Hmmmm..that's a good one, no clue.

To me a slut is just someone who sleeps with lots of guy regardless of whether there is emotional connection or not...outside the bedroom you wouldn't know she was so easy...a skank is a slut that looks like a slut...she openly advertises her sexuality in the way she looks and acts....or at least this is the distinction for me...

i'm with sadave on that one...if you refer to someone as skanky...i get the visual of a dirty lookin ho, shorts way too short, camel toe, black teeth, looks like she hasn't showered for a week...ummm...mysterious scabs all over her body...

yeah, bascially i get the sterotypical prostitute from an episode of Cops visual...

but thats just me.

this one is tough to answer, because there are so many variables. You're going to have your women who enjoy sex, and therefore have a higher number of partners. Not sure if there's a term for this one, but it seems to be more and more common today. I think this is the most desireable woman out there.

Then you have your women who are insecure and will have sex with many men to fill their insecurity. I guess this could be called "easy". The problem with this though is they may not have really learned to enjoy sex since they are only using it to fill a void so they just wind up having a lot of partners, but minimal skill.

I would say a slut would be one who has had many partners for whatever reason, and is still living this lifestyle well into adulthood. It's great to learn and have fun when we're young, but nothing beats having amazing sex with someone you really connect with.

I would say a skank is the same as a slut, just dresses like a skank. Just like the above posters have mentioned.

I also agree with sadave46 to a point. Purely subjective. A slut sleeps around with no regard for emotional connection (like a male who doesn't call afterward). Even while making out you just get the feeling that she is going to move on quickly.

A skank would fuck anything that moves - and looks like it.

And agree there is the fun use of either term amongst friends.

OK, from a woman's perspective, I might hate terms like 'slut' or 'slapper' (UK term).

But in mens' defence .................. it's very often the women who are the first to resort to that kind of name-calling about other women, usually prompted by nothing more than jealousy. As far as I'm concerned, women who do that are just making it harder for ALL women to pick and choose freely for themselves.

(But Scarlet's definition of slut did make me giggle!)
