My husband passed away six years ago, and since then, I've had one serious relationship with a man that was really hurtful. I felt horrible that I had sex with this guy and didn't get engaged, and now I really have low self-esteem. I felt terrible after my husband died - an overweight housewife raising two kids - and now after this, its definitely not gotten better.
I know this might be more of a relationship issue, but I really have a hang up over the sex issue. After my husband died, I got some disturbing discussions about sex (yes, its missed a great deal after a spouse dies), and its been upsetting, as though all my husband was was a piece of meat. I would like to have a more healthy view of sex and not find it to be something I'll never have again or not be wanted again. My husband loved me a great deal and we were married 14 years. Any advice?

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

There are two sides to making love (sex as most people call it) there is the animalistic side of us that wants to have the feeling of satisfaction that comes from orgasam. This is the side that makes us want to procreate and for lack of better words Fuck.
Then there is the emotional/Spiritual side of making love. This is the side were a conection, and feelings come into play. This also Includes the snuggling and cuddling parts and anything else associated with LOVE.
I feell you have a bit of a twisted perseption from your writing. I am not trying to be mean so please hear me out. You wrote that you felt bad , because you were not engaged to a guy that you had sex with. You also wrote that he is abusive in some way. So I would ask why you feel the need to want this man in your life forever and if your really trying to just fill a void left by your husbands death.
My sugestion to you is to not put so much reason into your feelings of lust or sex to begine with. You are human and actually a animal and you will have natural animalistict cravings to get laid. Save the making love part for when you find a real man worth loving. Just be careful and use protection if you decide to partake in a risky sexual behaviour.
Best of Luck and i hope I made some sence.
Did you think because you had sex with this other guy you were going to get engaged?I'm confused.
Whatever the case you loved your husband and just because you miss sex with him doesn't make you a horrible person.I am pretty sure this is all normal.
As for self esteem..it's a bitch. You have to work on you.If it is about weight then exercise, lower your meal portions.Do whatever you need to so that you feel as beautiful as you are.
In this age if time, certainly not being engaged to a sexual partner is not taboo, granted, religion may be involved. To that, I can only say this
In order to maintain a healthy self, strong self esteem, you must first love yourself.
Often when you learn to love yourself, you give off an aura to others of contentment, peace and hsppiness. All key attributes for a perspective partner to look for.
The grieving process is different for everyone, time has a way of pacing us, ketting us know when things are right.
No need to add stress to what I imagine is already a stress filled time. Sex will come, when you are ready, when it is right.
Please do not feel guilt or shame for wanting sex, nor for having the one fling. You are human, it is a natural instinct that has been oassed on since time began.
