When I was 19 and working as a graveyard shift cook... and I would get so freaking bored. So I would juggle the kitchen knifes. And there was this "gang" of other boys that was hell bent on beating me up... and they came in at 3 in the morning and barged past the waitress. The vent fans were so loud I didn't hear any of it, and I had my back to the doorway anyway, because I was juggling over the largest of the rubber safety mats they put in kitchens.
She said they all ran into each other in the doorway, and were clambering to get away. B/C the guy they were going to beat up was juggling knives.
true story. Ask about the frat boys some time, that's a funny story too.
I'm back *home* from my trip to visit Scott but it doesn't feel like home and hasn't felt like home for a few years now. Even though I've lived in this city for 53 years, owned this house for 30 years, it's now just a place to hang my hat, nothing more. When I go to NC and walk in his house, I feel I belong, I feel like I'm home.
