Healthy Sex Support Group
This community is dedicated to an open discussion about healthy sex and sharing thoughts and feelings about sexuality and improving one's sex life. Most active adults desire to have an active and fulfilling sex life, both for themselves and also their partner. Here we discuss common sexual challenges faced by both men and women.
The phyiscal therapist is doing nothing wrong, they are doing their job. You are complaining of pelvic pain and yes if you know anything about anatomy then you know that the pelvis area is near the sex organs of all humans. So yes while it may be uncomfortable for you I am sure it is just as uncomfortable for her/him to be working in that area.
To compare it to rape is harsh to say the least and is very upsetting to people who are rape victims especially violent rape victims. Especially when the person is just doing thier job in the first place.
I live in a town of about 15,000 and we have two clinics and multiple therapists. I am sure that where ever you are, you have the choice of more than two. Maybe it would be more comfortable for you to have a male therapist so maybe you won't feel like a female is taking advantage of you.
It is always the patients choice in their healthcare so my suggestion would be to keep looking until you found one you like. Also I would suggest maybe looking at doing more home exercises that they give you in the office and less of it in therapy so you can cut down the time spent being uncomfortable.
Also if you are still having issues I would suggest seeing a psychotherapist to help work with you about this issue, cause if there is some underlying things going you need to have help figuring it out.
Just my suggestions.
