I was in my early 20's and I was house sitting with a girlfriend of mine. It was a friend of her Mother's. The people who owned the house, their son had died many years prior to this. The son had an old drum set in the basement. When you would open the basement door off the kitchen you could here the drums making noise. That night my girlfriend wanted to watch "Children Of The Corn" I was so freaked out!! lol

I enjoy horror movies, loved the hannibal lector series, but they don't scare me, just entertain me. It is the evening news that scares me, honestly. Seeing what real human beings can do to each other is what scares me.

I really enjoyed the intellect behind the Saw movies. Getting someone else to act on your behalf and decide the outcome or fate of others at the value of their own morals while living counscious free is something!

Yeah. This is why I still find the original Alien compelling. The creature is "a survivor, unclouded by conscience, remorse or delusions of morality".

Not that I want to really hurt anybody, of course, LOL, but sometimes it is liberating to watch something or someone murder someone. Releases our eons-old buried caveman impulses.

lisa: The movie with the flies--that would be Amityville Horror, the 1979 version anyway with Rod Steiger as the priest who vomits. "Get out of this house!" Didn't see the remake so I don't know if that scene is still present.

What really freaked me out about Amityville is James Brolin's transformation from loving husband to beast/clone of the kid who murdered his parents...the dark circles under the eyes, the increasingly hostile behavior...similar to Jack Nicholson's descent into a murdering rampage in The Shining.

In the bar:

"Hey, you look just like that kid who killed his parents!"

(with killer's eyes) "So?"

"So, I'll--buy you another beer! No offense!"
