My opinion... based on ME... the answer would be no. I could do it for a while, if I knew that we would "get together" in a certain time limit.

But not indefinitely.

I'm sure it's possible Bob, I just question if it's true once you both meet. I'm sure those feelings are there and you truly think you are in love and feel in love. The only way to know for sure is to meet that very special someone than you would know :)

I agree with the others, Bob. Having been in two long distance relationships(5 years and 1 year), I fell for both before we met, but meeting and being together is what cinched it for me.

It is very possible. I feel the mind set of sex being a foundation of a relationship is over rated. It is one of many building blocks, but not the foundation. I have been in a LDR before for almost a year and it was 6 months before meeting. I think you really find out core values in someone better that way then you with a close relationship because your communication is usually much stronger as that is the main basis of the relationship. JMHO

I'd say it's possible to fall in love with the ideal way you IMAGINE someone to be in such circumstances. Actually falling in love with that person, as they really are, takes more personal communication.

I think it's possible. If you are communicating and sharing all your thoughts and feelings you can connect with someone on a very deep level. You may even begin to love them based on that deep connection you share. I've had some great conversations with one of my male friends. We can stay on the phone for hours talking about everything. We laugh together and talk serious together. We've never had sex but there is such a strong emotional bond we share that everyone around us can sense it.

I think it is possible if both people are completely honest, but I am not sure why anyone would want too. I fell in love with my then bf, he had to move because of work... I hated living 500 miles away from him... was horrible.

I have met a few guys onine that live in other states and we are good friends but will not even consider getting romanticcaly involved. But that is just my opinion.
