Why is that I feel like trapped in some alternate universe. I was dating a guy, who assumed/thought a commitment was being forced upon him. Not to mention he mentioned my clothes and ability to be social and more. We’re polar opposites and he’s not very communicative so it was just toxic as it goes. He also thought that I wanted a relationship. Negative and I don’t believe in titles because I have been burned (3rd) degree burned hurt where it took me years to stabilize and want to date again.
So I have this roommate, he’s Turkish and swag. We lived in the same complex for grad students for 2 years. Would cross paths and never say a word to each other. I would do work in the computer lab and he would workout in the game room. I even gave him the nickname “ Treadmill Guy” because he was always on the treadmill and pissed off a girl for the amount of time he was spending on it. Fast forward to now, we’re living under the same roof. I didn’t know he was my roommate because I live with two other guys and hardly seen them because we work and pursue grad degrees. Well, imagine my surprise when I see him on the couch. I introduced myself to him and instantly sat up and greeted me with a smile and told me his name. We talked and he said wait...I know you! I know you, you lived in Saucon you had a guy as your roommate. “M” your his roommate. He even remembered our convo on the shuttle one time and said my major. I also looked at him carefully and said “Treadmill Guy” he laughed and said it was cute. I apologized for the name and explained how he got the name, however, he insist that I change it now that we've officially met.
Now, I see him oddly everywhere. I was cooking and he noticed I was making cheese eggs and shifted from one side of the kitchen to the next. He asked did I know someone, who was a mutual friend of ours. I took my former coworker out to lunch and he was there. I introduced them. Just this past week, he saw me comfortable in pjs chilling because my job gave me time off and wanted me to relax. He was doing laundry and couldn’t get the machine to start. I helped and it worked. I had totally forgot that he was brushing his teeth and I went for a high five. Air five...he came back to where I was and sat down to see what I was watching. Headed out and told me he would see in an hour. I felt as though there was no need to tell me that. He asked do I think others will need to do laundry including myself. I just said... I know I’m not doing laundry and I can’t speak for others and waljed away from him (thinking) he was going to leave. He follows and says “you don’t have my number?” I shake my head and he programs my number in his phone. I told him, when he returns I will have a new nickname for him. He smiled.
When he returns he sees me in kitchen baking. He observes what I am doing. I told him it’s for a potluck for my department he looked concerned because he thought it was that night and I told him the following day in the afternoon. He said, I saw cookies on the stove, that was you? You have a sweet tooth. Cute? I said somewhat but not much.
I concentrated on what I was doing and he watched. I said... I have a new nickname for you, he called my phone but the call didn’t register yet. So I brought it closer. He heard the nickname and said that’s much better. Why did you give me that one? He answered the question for himself because “I smile a lot”. I’ll see you later but it’s cute.
Why wasn’t this easy with the first guy? I keep asking myself. He even said, the guy I was dating for 2 months doesn’t know what he wants if he putting legos, video games, and Star Wars above the girl he’s dating. You have to talk and know the person. I hate guys that don’t want to know the girl. His loss. Not to mention I had my palm read by a woman I have been helping find work. She said I will get married to a person, I know. I was like no. She said...you know him in your circle or your friends. Only one problem this guy could possibly be leaving at the end of the semester because he’s done with his PhD.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I would just take one day at a time as you're just getting to know each other IF you like him and see where it goes.... xo
