Especially if I am in a 'down' mood, I want someone to say "We're going to go....______. This is what you need right now! And, the rest will take care of itself!"
I like my man to be in control of himself, not of me.
I don't like a man that I can beat up.
Koolman - ASK the woman what she wants!
In humans, the expression refers to a man who is powerful or high on the social ladder, similar to hegemonic masculinity.
That is the definition of Alpha male.
I don't see anything in here about control, or being an asshole.
Maybe your referring to dominant, selfish, ego-centric and controlling men.
I don't know what that has to do with alphas though.
I had to go look up bonobo after I read your post. LOL
Nicely done and I have to agree with your point. ;)
I couldn't figure out why it was rubbing me the wrong way until I researched the definition.
I feel better now:)
I for one find that a certain amount of moderation in what you brought up is kind of fun occasionally.
I certainly am not looking or would like a man who is an ass. BUT I do occasionally like a man who can share opinions and when he feels a particular urge for something, he can put that nice, sly smile on his face and say "I want to take you to this restaurant tonight, I have such an urge for their steak" or "I have been fantasizing about you in that red dress all day, come on, put it on because you look so nice, I am taking you out to dinner because I love you". You better believe if someone said that to me I would do whatever he wanted.
I think everyone at one time or another has had an urge to go to a particular place or have something specific to eat and you JUST WANT IT that night or I know if we were going out somewhere I would never think twice about saying to my husband "Could you wear that cream shirt without the collar I like so much? You look so good in it".
Of course saying it all the time and demanding things all the time with no regard to your partners wants and wishes in return, crosses that line into asshole, then you are talking about something different.
i really would like a man though who would stand up 4 me no matter wot...and believe in me as i would 4 him...but sadly i do not have that..although im trying 2 get my partner 2 understand this is wot i need after 11 years..
i find it frustrating when women act like bimbos with men and let them control everything instead of being strong and having a mind of their own.
i am not saying that i am perfect....i faulter at times also and i hate myself 4 that...
