In actuality, I don't think this is as bad as it used to be. It's not really something to horrible about my relationship, just kind of need to get it out and hear some words.
Well I'm gonna start by saying a few weeks ago I sat down with my girlfriend and we had a long discussion about how I know I deserve better than the treatment she gives me and that I've had it with all the bullshit, and for once she listened. In fact something that showed me she listened was her birthday was on Friday, she got very drunk and alot of things happened that she doesn't remember. I was kind of glad I was there to watch her cause two close friends of mine were just as intoxicated and if I hadn't intervened I have no doubt something major would've happened. I had video taped it and when i showed it to her she was completely in shock. She appologized a few times and we discussed how often she drinks and such. Well also a comment was made by her best friend Joshua to a friend of mine Rej when they were outside having a smoke and talking about getting laid. Josh told Rej why not go for my girlfriend and Rej said "She's with Ben" and Josh's response was "That's only a formality." This was brought to my attention by Rej and two other people who heard it, so I went to her brought it to her attention. She set the record straight with him and he's not as big of a factor since she feels she's lost some respect for him. All that really kind of gives me a look that she's growing out of this crap, but I'm trying to stay on guard just in case in a month it all goes back to the way it was.
My main rant in this is that I believe friendships are relationships as well, you can have unhealthy friendships and healthy ones. My best friend in this entire world, Christina, and I have been through Hell and back and we're so closely connected even though we've only known each other about a year and a half. I met her in 2008 when I broke up with my ex and she was getting over her ex. We kind of used each other to get over our exes by acting like a couple without any of the real strings of a relationship. We don't sleep together anymore or anything even though when I visit (which happens once every few months) I often do crash in her king size bed. I've had long discussions with my girlfriend about this arrangement and she's fine with it, since she sleeps in the same bed as a friend of hers when she sees him (before anyone decides that they should jump on that). Now with all this history between Christina and I, we've had fights, mostly about how I don't live up to my potential. She sees it as I don't date the people that she deems worthy of me, I don't hang around with mature enough people. She talks me up alot, she sees alot in me and sometimes I feel like I let her down. When my girlfriend and I broke up for a short period in November, she was the first person I called and I went and stayed with her for a weekend. She saw alot of my pain and tried to help me through it. That's why I could understand when I did take back my girlfriend that she was a little disappointed. Since then she's really held this aminosity towards my relationship. I can't bring issues I have to her because she simply states "dump the loser". I can't talk about what I'm doing if I'm with my girlfriend cause she doesn't want to hear about "the bitch". So I try to just let it go. Well tonight she went off on me...I hadn't said anything about my relationship, in fact we were discussing a problem she came to me with about her boyfriend, I gave some advice and suddenly she said "Why am I even asking you? Look at who you're with". That was about the last post.
I honestly am starting to think that maybe this is why I get so stressed out about everything. I think things are fine and suddenly I get hit. I don't know. I appreciate any comments.

As for your best friend perhaps it would be better if you stopped discussing your relationship with your gf as there is no reason to convince her of anything because she is not living your life. If you are happy with your gf then it really should not matter what your friend is saying.
It is her choice to view the situation in the way she feels best and in most cases a best friend will say things that you may or may not agree with. In any aspect if you are truly happy then there is no need to defend yourself or your actions.
As for your comment about sleeping at your best friends and your gf sleeping at her best friends house well all I can say to that is if the two of you don't have a problem with it then don't worry about it. I am not so sure I would care for that situation myself as if i decided to stay with my best friend you can pretty much bet that I would be sleeping on the couch or spare bedroom and if my partner was uncomfortable with that situation then I would have no problem staying at a hotel either. The point is make sure you and your gf both agree what the terms are in your relationship regarding that issue.
Anyway you are the one who has to live your life not me or anybody else so find what makes you truly happy and go with it. If you are unhappy about certain things then it is up to you to decide on how to make things better. Best Wishes to you:)
I've found opposite sex relationships tend to be transitional. They either work into a full blown relationship or fade into oblivion when you find a new partner.
Firstly, my girlfriend getting drunk and doing that is the first time that it's happened. I know this simply because I'm around her when she drinks. This night was different, they were playing a drinking game, everyone was picking on her for being the birthday girl and she ended up getting very intoxicated. The comment made by her friend was simply something that even when she heard it made her angry. I know mostly for a fact she's not sleeping around on me and such. Our problems mostly come from how she has treated me with little appreciation and she's beginning to realize that or so I hope.
Secondly, Christina and I were lovers at a point. There is one major problem that kept us from ever pursuing a relationship and deciding that friendship was a better option. She HATES kids, never wants to have any, she's had two abortions so far and she has said on numeous occasions she's going to book the appointment to get her tubes tied. I love kids and want to have a family later on in life. We had sat down and discussed it and realized that even if we made each other happy, eventually that fight would come about and honestly I just can't take that kind of heartbreak.
Another good reason behind me never pursuing her is that she's already got a boyfriend whom she does love, but they have the occasional fight. I am that friend who she cries to in the middle of the night when that rare situation occurs and vice versa.
I want to say that I haven't spoken about my relationship to her in so many weeks but she brings it up on occasion to see if I'm still with my girlfriend. I try to avoid it cause i know it causes drama like this and honestly, I don't need it.
Last thing I'll add is that I have found that there were times with Christina that she talks to me with jealousy. I've called her on it a few times, not in a mean way but I'd mention it and we'd end up discussing it. Talk of us being together never ends in us wishing we could be.
Again thank you all for your comments.
I suggest you have a heart-to-heart with Christina explain to her you are in your relationship with your GF for the long haul. If she expects to remain friends with you, she has to respect that. You can offer you will reduce the your venting or coming to her for advice but she also has to accept you are going to talk about your GF and you need her to stop with the low shots and criticism.
