Hello everyone. Before you judge me let me tell you about myself. I am a 48 year old male. I have 4 healthy sons. I am also a school teacher. I have been married for 12 years and the relationship has always been solid...until this past year. My wife works at a hospital and for the past 3 years she has been working the 4 to 12 shift. I get home from my job when she is beginning her work day. Because of this we never saw each other much. I began to miss our old times and especially our once strong sex life. As urges got stronger I began using porn sites to satisfy my desires. I know it is awful but I did it. Any way now she is back on dayshift and we see each other all the time. This is good right? Well the problem now is this: I have had difficulties stopping my porn viewing and am unable to sexually perform for my wife. This has left her feeling I dont want her or dont love her any more which is completely not the case. I have been to my doc but didnt tell him of my porn viewing. I guess what I am looking for is to know if anyone out there has gone through similar problems like this and what they did about it. Thanks so much.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I would ask your family doctor for a referral to a relationship therapist as well I would be honest with your wife.... If you don't think you can do it without the help of a therapist then I would do it together....
Here's some info that might be of help to you..... There's also a Healthy Sex Board on here

I think you did so great. Many people buckle under pressure and actually cheat on their partners.
If she truly loves you, she will understand !
However, I think if your mind has already been rewired, you may need a good therapist who can help you get back to your wife instead of porn. Also, have you tried the pills ? It may help kick start your intimacy for now.
Hope things get better for both of you.
We had a bit of a problem with what you are going through. Of course I got the.. you are sexy, you are the one I want.. yada yada yada but when you are going down on your guy and he looses his hard-on is a big problem! Or 5 min into intercourse there will be no happy ending?!? He was so pissed off that I wasn't getting mine either!?!
Besides being a BS, I am the BS who's husband begged her to stay but couldn't perform?? Of course I thought it was me.. this was about me right? I didn't give him the attention, time.. sex.. now that I rearranged my work schedule, we have tons of time and still nothing. Pills work for the most part!
I found the porn on his old computer, tumbler app on his phone etc. didn't know this was a thing until I read an article. So I told him he could watch all the porn he wanted... Starring Me! We have an old cell phone and I told him he could use that if he really wanted ( I refuse to ever see any of it) I don't have lighting and makeup artists!! Very unflattering! He likes it! He takes it on business trips and it is in a vault with 3 separate passwords and thumb print! However I have the code to this old cell phone and it has no SIM card.. no other apps. If this is what it takes to make him happy then so be it... The sex is fantastic!
** not a fix for everyone.. but comming clean is a start
So as a woman who is currently experiencing the same feelings your wife is experiencing, I can tell you that all she wants is for you to acknowledge her feelings without shaming her or making her feel bad about herself. Maybe you do this already, I don't know.
My husband and I went through this and we still are kind of recovering from it. It wasn't about just sex for me, it was about intimacy. Maybe try doing something for her that will make her feel wanted. For me, what I've wanted more than anything lately is for him to come home from work and just spend some time with me instead of picking up his phone and looking at the news or watching whatever tv show he missed while he was at work. There's a big difference between being in the same room as someone and paying complete attention to someone. I just want to know that he thought about me during the day.
As far as performance, try the little blue bill for the physiological and a counselor or psychologist/psychiatrist for the psychological because it's more than just the physical sensation you're getting from porn. There's a psychological element to it that because it was your method of pleasure for so long you've become desensitized which is something that happens to both men and women when they use porn as a sexual outlet.
I respect you for admitting you are part of the problem. I wish my husband would be more responsible for the lack of sex in our relationship instead of acting like nothing is wrong. We are working on it.
