If you have dated for a while and he/she still keeps you away from his friends. To keep away from the family is healthy because you want to make sure but, acquaintances, is an indicator that he/she is only in it for the moment. You have to determine if the moment is all you want. I guess being on the same sheet of music is a key factor.
There are so many good examples portrayed here. In my experience, I look at how they treat others when in a public place. If he makes derrogatory comments about people and surroundings, how well he treats the waitstaff or vendors. Good manners and human decency.
It can be a scary journey or one that you can learn from and take the time to not accept poor behaviors and set healthy boundaries and you get to decline before you put more effort and not jump in just because you have a void in your life.
Lack of humor.
Criminal record (usually stems from anger).
Substance abuse (including smoking).
Promiscuity.
Otherwise, I could care less! Can't be too choosey, especially at my age!
I stay away from any man that needs the attention of any woman around him. I know that for him I will never be enough.
