Receiving mixed messages from boyfriend

Let's just say that I'm not asking for "permission" or "encouragement" to end it with this guy. It's been a long, long time since I've dated. Being older, heavyset, and disabled, men are not beating a path to my door. Not that I will tolerate ABUSE, no one deserves that or should put up with that. But this man has blown "hot and cold" and gives me mixed messages. In our brief relationship he has tried to break up with me twice. The first time it was because I didn't give him sex. The second time is because I DID give him sex!
I know he is neurotic. But since I've had PSYCHOTIC boyfriends in the past, just neurotic seems OK. ha ha! He has been very generous, taking me to nice restaurants and just between you, me, and God, he also gave me the money to get my perm. I've had really stingy boyfriends in the past, and life has given me very few "perks" that I didn't have to work my a$$ off for.
He is good-looking and well-built. I find him hot, even at 81. He was reasonably good in bed. BUT being an older man, I think he suffers from a Madonna/Whore mindset. He pushed for sex early on. I held off until our 5th date, by which time I wanted to get naked also. But now I feel he lost respect for me.
I am tired of jumping through hoops.

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo

What a nut!
Why was he mad that you did?
At his age, sheesh, life is short, FOR REAL; there's no reason for him to not lighten up, enjoy someone's company and just relax. But considering I'm fairly neurotic myself, I suspect that is just a challenge to overcome and work through for the long haul.
I feel he put me on a pedestal and as soon as we did the deed, I became a "fallen woman". If we go out again, I definitely would have a serious discussion before I'd get physical again.
Gramybear, I'm not willing to be lonely again and I no longer believe in "waiting for Mr. Right". Last time I had a steady boyfriend who took me to dinner and movies was 2002. Last time I had sex was 2003. A very long dry spell. There have been good and exciting times with this guy. I'm not willing to give up just yet.
I'm on my own now with my pooch and Living no relationship is much better then a bad one... I have peace of mind and no crap in life.. There's a lot to be said for it to
Big hug for you and a blessing....xo
When I contemplated this relationship, I figured that with an 81 year-old man it would be mostly companionship and NO DRAMA. He's given me drama.
Don't know if we're ON or OFF at this point. Will see him tomorrow in the supermarket. I do think he CARES, but the Double Standard was the norm when we both were growing up. Shame-based attitudes are difficult to shake.
