Anyhow, at least for me another important characteristic would be their spiritual and emotional life.
That they be willing and open to communicate about it and be aware of their role(s) in/on improving it.
I feel very fortunate because my fiance is pretty much all of the above.
We do argue on occasion, but then, everybody does. They don't last long and neither of us hold grudges. He's everything that I've always wanted and have never been able to find.
Physical Attraction: Pretty important; otherwise we're just friends or roommates who share bills.
Understanding: Even if we don't happen to agree, we can understand where each other are coming from. We can see the other's side.
Just kidding, maybe...I DO have my dark side, and I want to feel comfortable in that dark side. I usually channel it into exercise, watching and making movies.
Listening to Angelina Jolie last night on CBS Evening News, talking about herself and her new, quite violent movie that she directed, the host asked her "you've gone on to be a philanthropist, a director, you used to be a bad girl" to which she replied "I'm still a bad girl. It's just in its proper place now, Brad (Pitt), my career...it's in a healthier place." God knows she grappled with her heroin addiction and other demons, unsuccessfully, with Billy Bob Thornton. Thankfully, Brad Pitt is drug free; just likes sex, with, thank God, just her, and who can blame him? She is she-devilishly beautiful.

Still with the man I love so much but he lacks much on this list and i'm deciding whether i can live with it.
Most days I wish i'd stayed in love with the first guy, but that's the only thing i couldn't chose and probably couldn't change.
Any Advice or suggestions?

Honesty, understanding, supportive, we work well as a team, respectful, faithful, loyal, reliable, takes care of himself, has a life outside of me (has his own friends, work, hobbies), encouraging, compatable with my daughter (she needs to like him, get along with him, he needs to be good with kids), committed, good communication skills, soft spoken (I don't do well with people who are loud and yell a lot), loving, and passionate.
