I'm going to be starting pre-marriage counseling with my fiance at his church. He's Christian and I'm jewish. I don't follow most jewish holidays or anything like that since I was not brought up religious but I really do not want to convert. I do go to church with him every Wednesday because he wants me to do AND I do find it very interesting so I don't mind. He is fine with me never converting - this is the topic we have spoken about right from the beginning and if anything, he wants it to be my choice but I am terrified that we will be deemed “unfit” to be married. And even know I know we are okay with getting married... I am just scared of them. I have never been through this, and don’t know anyone close to me that has. Any advice?
Side note... it scares me even more because his dad, friends of the family, etc. always tell him that we will be deemed unfit.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

But he wasn't attending church through all of the 20 years we were together and we didn't get married in a church.
For me the bigger issue was how to raise the kids. And, just me, but I would never have agreed to raise the kids Christian. There is something about holding your own child in your own arms that makes religion take on a whole new level of meaning.
Basically, I have no answers for you. But you've definitely got my support as you work it out.
Heartfelt hugs, Patti
Good luck with your premarital counseling. Being as honest as you can during those sessions really can set a solid precedence for handling those inevitable problems.
It seems a lot of people are involved in you and your fiancé's choices??
It seems like this is a huge deal within his family...
You could be married by a judge if you don't want to convert to Christianity …. You could elope and have a decision in place how you will raise your children if you choose to have any??
I'm just throwing out thoughts.
I don't see that premarital counselling in a faith that you don't believe in will work??
I hope things work out well for you..... Big hug.....xo
I was looking up people who want to marry atheists...… I just wanted to see info about marrying outside of one's faith and it is done by churches

Not sure why your fiancé's father, friends, etc., feel the need to butt in and be negative toward your upcoming marriage.
Could be a regional thing. Where I live, there are lots of different religions.
Good luck with everything. Best wishes.
What does "unfit" to be married mean? Or, rather, what do you think it means? Is your fiance Catholic?
I would suggest if he wants you to go to his counselor, he should also go to one not attached to an agenda.
Your in a bit of a spot. I am a born again Christian still a bit of a babe its been 4yrs now.
If the first session makes you uncomfortable,
Perhaps seeking a marriage counselor that is neither Jewish or Christian would be beneficial for both parties so there is no biased views already established.
I pray you never are put in the position to deny Jesus/Yeshua to marry him. I pray all negative talk/curses spoken over you and your partner be cut off. In Jesus name. Amen.
If he truly loves you and is a strong man that is not easily persuaded by others, especially his mother you will be fine.
But hitting your war room with prayer before meetings or whenever you think about it can only help.
Bless you my sister.
Hope I helped even just a bit.
