long distance relationships? is it possible?

Greetings,
2 years ago my very toxic relationship with my alcoholic boyfriend ended. It has taken me awhile to gain some confidence and get back into the dating field. I have been on every dating site imaginable and I have had some successful dates, but I haven't found someone through online dating that I really click with.
However, I met this one guy almost 2 years ago through a friend. He lives in North Carolina, I'm in Indianapolis where he is originally from. I always thought he was cute but just wrote him off because I wasn't interested in attempting some long distance relationship plus I don't think the timing was right for me.
Anyways, he came in for the 4th of July weekend and we were all invited to a friends lake house. It was mostly couples except for me and this guy... By default we had to share the extra bedroom. I had such a blast with him this past weekend and we ended up really connecting and actually sleeping together. Which I'm so nervous that was a big mistake... but it just came so naturally.
Well, Sunday came and he flew back to NC. I don't want to come off as this stage 5 clinger, but I would like to let him know that I would like to see him again. I am at this point in my life to try something new. At this point, I don't feel like there is nothing to lose. This is where I lack my confidence in dating. I struggle putting myself out there. To me, he is worth trying this adventure. If it did happen to work out I have no ties to where I'm living.. I would be willing to re-locate. However... Its not something I would share with him right away. Any suggestions on how to approach this? Has any one been in a long distance relationship that it worked out? Any pointers on how to approach the situation without scaring him off? Thanks!

Now that I am not talking to my whatever best friend, I realized that her life is full of drama. I had grown tired of hearing her stories about her boyfriend many months ago. She basically had been monopolizing conversations for that long too. She pretty much stopped asking me questions about me. I passed her in front of her classroom the other day and didn't even look at her. I am...

It sounds like your past relationship was really tough. I'm glad you're feeling more confidence - it's important to bring our best and healthiest selves to any relationship!
I can't really advise you about whether/how to take the next step, but have you asked yourself what you're looking for as far as commitment and the qualities you need from a guy long term? Now that he's gone home, maybe a few days would give you some clearer perspective.
Wishing you the best!

Like we had a connection. I d like to see you again. I know we are far apart, but I take chances. How do you feel about it ? "
12 days after our 1st communication I packed my bags got in my car o see her & never left her.
I suggest you keep talking to him online, phone postal mail is great too.
My relationship is different than most though I think, b/c I knew in my heart immediately she was the 1 for me..
Let us know what you decide & what happens...
The hard part with long distance is that it never really gives you a sense of what you'd be like in a relationship if you lived closer. So when you see each other, it's so heightened, more so than if you saw the person regularly and so you don't always get a true sense of a realistic dynamic between the two of you So that can confuse things. But yeah, sure it can work if you're both on the same page. I mean, I think that's the same for any relationship, even those where you live in the same city with the other person.
I think what happens in most cases is that one person in the relationship eventually wants something more traditional. Well, at least that's what happened in my case. Like I said, if both couples are on the same page and stay on the same page, whether that means the relationship stays long distance for ever, or agreeing to someone eventually moving, it can work.
