No relationship is perfect. A long-term relationship requires constant effort to understand each other, fix misunderstandings, solve problems and continue to grow as both individuals change and evolve. On the other hand if he is not willing to talk and work on these issues then I think it is time you have to ask yourself if this is the kind of relationship you wish to stay in. I just know life is short and it boils down to how you want to live your life and the future to come. As you know you can't change anyone but you can change the course of your path in life if you want to. Everyone is different in a relationship so I guess to me you have to know how you wish to be treated and take it from there. If you settle for less than that is exactly what you will get. Hoping you can work it out and decide what is best for you:)
I just feel trapped sometimes. I still love him, but he treats me like I'm just a maid that does sexual favours on the side!
Right now, I can't leave him. I'm not in a financial situation to do so. And like I said...I still love him.
And I hate myself for it.
The other suggestions that you might consider is to start planning a way to have more financial stability in your life. Check out your local job service programs as there are quite a few jobs now that allow free daycare at your place of employment as well as programs that can assist you in getting daycare based on your income so that you can still make a profit and have enough to live on.
It isn't something that will happen overnight and you will have to work hard to achieve it but it will be so worth it when you accomplish it and make no mistake you can do it. As persistent as you are to stay in this relationship you have to use a bit of that persistence to change your situation. Remember like I said before if you settle for less then less is exactly what you are going to get.
I also would suggest attending support groups of different natures like grieving over a loved one or even the divorce groups. The reason I say this is because although you may not fit the criteria exactly these people talk about making it on their own with their kids and how they were able to deal with emotions. Some of their ideas may help you in your own situation. You have nothing to lose just by listening and you may even gain some valuable insight:) Anyway think about the suggestions and maybe try a few. Wishing you much happier days very soon.
Like katiebell says, and I learned on my own, the more you put up with, the more people will use that against you. It's not always a conscious, planned thing.
I know this situation is really hard. You can send me a message any time.
