Say "if we were on a deserted island somewhere, do you think we'd...get along...talk and...things?" -Sally Field, Smokey and the Bandit
If you're interested in him more than a friendship and willing to take the risk, ask him out on a date, something more romantic than drinks and see what he says.
Pass him a note that says "I like U - Do U like me?"
Seriously? Why are you asking? Are you anxious about whether he likes you "that way" or anxious about the possibility that he doesn't?
If you want him, invite him to your place then make him a romantic dinner before you make your move. If you don't, never go to his place for dinner.
But if you want a tried and true method, think to the last time you knew without a doubt that somebody liked you--and that's your answer, that's what you measure by.
With that said, I'm with leather about mixing business and pleasure. It's like one of my older brother's favorite sayings ... "Don't find your honey where you make your money - 'cause if the shit goes bad you have to see them every f-in' day!"
