After spending slightly more than a year of being head over heels for my co-worker the truth came out. He's just a jerk who doesn't give a crap about me.
It was made clear to me this week that I am nothing but a joke to him. In a very long story he hurt my feelings - and doesn't see how. My friend at work told him off and he said to her "She needs me. I'm helping her."
This made me so angry there are no words. Someone who I though who was at the very least a friend just thinks I'm a joke and obsessed with him.
Yeah I have/had a crush on him BUT its not like I have a shrine to him in my room or anything or went out of my way to spend time with him.
He initiated all outings outside of work - He initiated all conversations
And he made me feel like crap.
Good thing we never actually dated.

First and foremost how absolutly arrogant does someone have to be to make a statement that he was helping you.
Unfortunatly you said you never dated but admired him in a loving manner which most likely gave him the impression right off the bat that you liked him and it seems he turned it around and made it work against you. If it were me I would chalk it up to a bad experience and move forward. Don't bad mouth him in the office it will make you look weak and for a woman that is never good.
When you find your next crush or the next person you do date. Be honest and upfront from the get go so then you know right away if there are any false pretenses. Be strong..
Maybe he thinks he's toughening you up, for future relationships?
