You say that healing and growth have taken place. You imply that there is interest on the part of both to try. If there was abuse before I would be very leary, but if there was no abuse and the reasons were more that they were young and still had things to do before getting serious.
It really all depends on so many things that there can't be one rule about it. I think only the two people themselves can talk about it and make a wise decision.
Call me an optimistic but I think we all have love for people in our lives, as long as no real big problems occurred in your relationship (disrespect for etc.) and it was more of a break up due to not having enough time for each other.
The only way to know for sure is to try. If maturity was what was lacking, if time can fix the problems, then yes.
Good luck to you
Fading: I totally knew you were going to say that lol. You're absolutely right - there has to be a lot of maturing in order for it to work.
Peter: That is an interesting idea that deserves more thought. I hadn't considered this but it makes total sense that it could be true.
Xa1nbowxR: I know there isn't a general answer to this question, but I was wanting various feedback because I'm not just addressing myself with this post, but relationships of those I know outside of DS (thus why I'm so vague with this post).
There is a common denominator of "youthful mistakes" in the various situations that have been crossing my mind and I do know that anyone considering to do this needs to be cautious.
RoseBud23: You're right that every situation and person is different. Like I mentioned above, I'm actually wondering about a few different relationships/people. Your post does hit home with my best friend's situation so I'm definitely going to pass your input on to her if I get a chance.
We broke up because of some major issues, twice, but still couldn't stay away from each other.
This time we took it all the way - moved in, got a house together, the whole 9.
It is not perfect, we still struggle sometimes but we don't fight - we discuss and try to be open and honest. So far so good
if you are thinking about trying again, then your heart is in it and you will always wonder if you don't try .
Good luck !
