I hop you will feel better soon!! Sorry you broke up with the guy.. It is really hard when you have plans and hopes.
I agree with Aronia, not a surprise she's really great, that service to others is a great way to take the intensity of your situation down a notch. I have been volunteering at my daughter's school, which also gives me more time with her.
I do have several hobbies, reading, trail running and mountain biking and basketball. These things are good and healthy and I often do them with others so there is a social element.
I have decided to give up drinking and smoking pot and am finding that this choice is leading me to new friends. I am not overly concerned with who these friends will be or how long it will take for them to appear, haha! I do think that this major life change will transform me in many ways. I am choosing to embrace it. Hell, it's happening any way.
I am also, making a conscious choice to embrace my alone time like 17 butterfly, I have decided that I am going to search for my self and not the next woman in my life for at least one year. Now I will be honest if she appears before that arbitrary time I wouldn't turn away from someone. But I am planning on a slow building relationship. I want a friend not just a lover. So, take your time and think about what you want, what you don't want and who you are now that this relationship has ended. I believe taking the time will be worthwhile.
Best wishes and if you need to bounce anything off someone, I am open and try to be as thoughtful and honest as I can be.
