So I’m currently a mess. This morning, my now exboyfriend (20), broke up with me (18). He texted me this morning and asked to come over. I said “of course, babe.” He came over, sat on my bed, and would not look at me. I tried to make conversation but got minimal responses. I finally asked if he was dumping me. “No. Yes. No.” He said. He said that we rushed into things, and that we should’ve been friends before we dated. He said he needs to focus on himself and that if he isn’t ready to give me a whole part of him, we shouldn’t be together. He said that I’m his best friend, I’m amazing, he’s going to miss me, and that I’m the person he talks to when he’s sad. I was hugging him and he said, “You have to stop. You need to let go.” And he kept telling me I’d be okay. He kept telling me to stop pleading and bartering, and that when it doesn’t hurt to see him, we can be friends. I also know he’s still into his ex, but I try to work on that with him and she wants nothing to do with him. Now, he has very bad depression in the winter, and he tends to fuck with things in the winter. I love him more than anything, and I want him back so incredibly bad. This is the worst feeling ever. In like a week, when I ask to get my things, I wanted to ask him to be friends, and eventually build up to being together again. Please tell me what you think I should do, unless you want to tell me to get over him because it’s too fresh for that. Thank you.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

It takes time to get over someone. So take the time.
He is not ready for a serious relationship and doesn’t want to hurt you.
Let him go for now. He may change his mind later.. I am so sorry. You can’t wait for him.
If it is meant to be, he will come back to you.
Be strong.
I agree with what the others have written... He's not ready for this .... Be kind to yourself and treat yourself gently
I wouldn't get in touch with him... Be with your friends and your family......Another hug......xo
